I have been using ear canal headphones for more than 10 ears now, starting with Sony's classic MDR EX series. I was sold once I started using earbuds, or in-ear, or ear canal headphones, as they call it now. BTW, my first pair still works, even though the silicone has come off. Sounds slightly muffled though. Anyway, went on to a pair of Philips that had fake bass booms. Never liked that. A couple more Sonys with my handphone... But kept losing the buds! They tend to fly off from my ear when the wires get tugged. And unlike normal earphones, in-ear ones don't work at all without the proper buds! Buying spares didn't help. They just kept disappearing... At one point I had 4 pairs of in-ears without any buds! I even resorted to sticky tape. Yucks! Then came across an offer for the Aurvanas at $63. Best bargain I ever got. Came with a pair of quality airplane adapters, box and a very thoughtful cleaning tool. Excellent construction, oozes quality. Understated elegance. And the best thing is, the rubber buds don't fall off like the Sony's and Philips. You really have to struggle to get the buds off. And the earbud quality is just so much better than previous ones I've bought, flexible, but not flimsy. Spend some time understanding how to get the best fit, and you will be rewarded with beautiful sound. It's well worth the effort! Won't go on too much, since sound quality is a very subjective thing. Suffice to say, I'm totally satisfied. Some would prefer more bass, but I just love the crispy, clear sound. Those with fake booms really hurt my ears. Works better than most active noise cancellation! But be careful about touching the wires... and don't eat or drink while you're enjoying the music. You can hear yourself better than a stethoscope. But the sweet dream ended when I left these on a flight... But you know what? I'm getting another pair!

Much better than my bose earbuds they block outside nose better and actually stay in my ears while at the gym the bose never did. With the better fit I dont have to turn up the sound as much and they sound great

I purchased my first in-ear-headphones for myself in March. Sound quality is good. External noise reduction is also good. I surprised my wife and bought a set for her when she lost her other headset.
