I have not had this drive that long. Works great for movies stored on it. I have watched two movies on it,and the picture quality is great. Also, Western digital gives you three years on the warranty. Most other manufacture's only give three months or a year. A hard drive can fail within one year. I went with this one for the warranty and Western Digital makes great drives.

Pros: 1. no need for external power supply; 2. read & write speed average 12-14MB/sec (FAT32, tested on: vostro 1500 laptop / barton 2400 desktop) 3. pre-instlation of drivers no needed, so you get instant access to your files on any system 4. no warming / no noise / no vibrations 5. my wife likes the design :P Cons: 1. for large transfers (ie 3GB) waiting time is annoying

Barely six months into owning the product - the hard drive crashed!!! And it barely contains a little over 100gb! I have a 250gb with WD as well, for two years now, and it hasn't crashed! I don't recommend this new generation of WD Passports.
