I needed to mate a cable box to an articulated wall mount for a flatscreen that I wanted to mount on my lanai. I didn't want to have to wall mount a separate shelf for the box or jury rig it to the TV. I ordered the articulated wall mount at the same time but the wall mount company had no box mount like this. I took a chance that the mounting plate (a separate purchase)and this box bracket would be truly "universal" and mate up. The three pieces all worked beautifully together with a clean custom made look and now I can sit in a lounge chair or swivel the TV to watch my favorite game when I'm in the pool.
