I've had this for about 2 years, and it's still going strong. I take it with me on vacations and love the fact that you can fold it up. It's been in a carry on about 20 times and has not broken. All 4 USB ports work. (I had a problem with a previous 4 port chill pad.) It does cool down my laptop. I've used this on a Compaq Presario 2100 (15" screen) and an Acer Aspire One (9" screen) and it works for both of them. I haven't tried to figure out what the temperature difference is, but there seems to be one. I would have given it 4 stars because I think it's a little pricey for what it is. You can get a serviceable chill pad for about $15. This is way more than "serviceable", however I don't think it's $20 more. It would be better if it was in the $25-30 range. That being said, it has lasted 2 years and 10 trips without breaking. And it has 4 working USB ports. Highly recommended if it's on sale or if the price goes down.

I've had the Vantec LapCool 4 LPC-420 Foldable Notebook Cooler for about 2 weeks now, and I am quite happy with it. I like having an AC adapter, so this was a good choice for me. It's a sturdy, little product and does pretty well at keeping my Gateway dual core laptop cool. However, that said, I keep the fan on the high setting all the time. Speaking of the fan, even on high, I cant hear it unless I really try. I highly recommend this product. I would have given it five stars if the fan was stronger.
