This device installed with no problems on an XP netbook, but would not install on a Vista Home Premium laptop. [...] The Vista install manual states to let Windows perform an online search to locate and install the drivers. The install was successful and works great with a Garmin GPS V. [...] So, let Vista find and install the driver.

This device installed with no problems on an XP netbook, but would not install on a Vista Home Premium laptop. Cables Unlimited provided a support link: http://www.cablesunlimited.com/products/Prod_Drivers.aspx?groupcode=I3274 The Vista install manual states to let Windows perform an online search to locate and install the drivers. The install was successful and works great with a Garmin GPS V. The driver is 2.04.16 written by FTDI (they make the chip in the device). So, let Vista find and install the driver.

One of the few USB to serial devices I found that will work with Win7, x64. Automatically loaded drivers, no need for the included CD. This is replacing an old Belkin that did not have drivers for x64.
