I had just purchased a couple Transcend 8 GB SDHC class 6 flash memory cards for a new camera, and thought I'd need a new card reader. Nope, this reader I purchased from Amazon 13 months ago reads and writes to these chips without any problems. This reader is much better than the description lets on.

I really like this reader - it reads faster than any of the USB external readers I've tried, and it only shows a drive letter when a card is installed. My last internal reader showed 4 drive letters all the time and it was difficult to find the one with media in it.

Uses one USB header in the motherboard, and only one drive can be in use at one time. Works in Linux. Simply put, it works.
