This does the job ok. But if you plug in and unplug devices often, then these jacks will drive you up a wall. They are very tight, and far to close together. Look for a better designed one. You'll be glad you did.

The Tripp Lite U222-007-R USB 2.0 7 Port Hub was exactly what I was looking for. I am a professional Musician and I.T. Administrator and have always relied on Tripp Lite quality products for my professional and personal projects. This 7 Port Hub is no exception! There are 5 ports on the back side and 2 on the front which you may find helpful when dealing with multiple usb cables. It is a Simple, and neat looking quality hub and it is also a great value. This is just I'd hoped for: small, powerful and lots of ports. I can now use it to charge my iPod, sync my PDA to my computer/Outlook. I simply love it. I thought because of the reasonable price I was going to get a low powered hub that wouldn't be any better than the one I was replacing. But no... great price and great product!
