I bought this for cat5 network tracing. It works ok, and I thought I needed a fluke for better performance. But this works just as well when used with the trendnet tone generating unit. They both take some fiddling to locate the correct wire. It does NOT include the tone generator. You need to buy one separately, such as the TC-NT2 which has a nice wire-checking feature built in as well.

It works, but it was not really what i was specting, if i recomend someone's to buy it, sure ill do..

I ordered a Testifier unit with the matching probe from another supplier. The metal contacts within that probe unit kept losing contact with the internal circuity (sometimes you would get a tone, other times nothing). The unit also took 4 watch batteries (really?) which would make battery replacement utterly expensive. I picked up this unit and I am so far impressed. Picks up signals great and takes a standard 9V battery. I wish they sold an optional carrying case for it.
