I am a Linux user but sometimes use Windows and this USB drive works better between the two than SanDisk cruzer. The problem is SanDisk's embedded U3 software that you can't erase sometimes confuses my Linux computer. I didn't notice much difference in speed between the better-know SanDisk and this drive. One thing I like better about the Transcend drive is that it is smaller than most other brands, which really comes in handy when you have side-by-side USB ports or the USB is in a weird place (like on those Dell Omnis). Haven't used the software. Since these flash drives are very small so make sure you keep your eye on it. Once I thought I lost it but it was just hiding in my backpack. Overall I am very pleased with the 4GB version and will probably purchase another.

This thing works great, and it's CHEAP! All you have to do is plug it in and the rest seems to take care of itself. I use it between three different computers using vista and xp and have no issues on either os. Haven't used it on a mac though, sorry.

Complete junk... Lost 3.6 gigs of data... Transcend website has recovery tool, but they warn you to backup your data as the tool reformats the drive.... What kind of recovery tool is that???? The idea is to recover the lost data, but these highschool dropout engineers at Transcend want to reformat my drive.... 1st and LAST transcend product I ever buy!!!!
