The TEAC LP-R400 does everything it is supposed to do with ease. Directions were extremely easy and efficient- I am a total no-tech person and I had the entire thing up and running- recording records to CDs within about 15 minutes. Records are easy to record and the CDs sound great. You get a spacing option for tracks (from what I understand the present technology for records to CDs still makes the user do this manually). My only very slight complaint is that the speakers could be a bit stronger. But I really didn't get this to PLAY records, but to RECORD them, and for that feature, the TEAC functions magnificently.

I read all the reviews for the TEAC LP-R400 before buying it. Several raised the issue of Amazon promoting recordable CDs that won't work with the unit. These reviews had been around a while so I naively figured Amazon must have corrected this problem. They have not. The discs are recordable but not digital. So I have 50 CDs that I will use eventually, but now I need to go out and find digital recordable discs. It's annoying though not a major problem. Otherwise, the unit appears to work well. It's attractive. I don't know yet if it can record, but I'm optimistic.
