The chillmat works fine, it's just like the standalone Targus chillmat I already had if you detach it from the stand. That is not the problem. I don't want to call the stand a problem, because it works. It just doesn't seem to work very well. It didn't seem to really raise it up that much or give me a good viewing angle at all. This was the whole point of buying it, so that's why I have to give it a mediocre review.

After trying a lot of notebook chill pads, this is the one which keeps my MacBook Pro really cool. This is a stand as well, so I keep my laptop computer on it and use external keyboard and mouse with it. Pros - Quiet - Looks nice - Cools well - Multi purpose (notebook stand and chill pad) Cons - A bit expensive - Hides the optical drive if that is in front of your laptop computer

Did not like the location of the lower support bar. Easily modified with a screwdriver. Like the fact you can remove the chill mat. Nice product, a little pricey at $50.
