Switch 7754 4-Slot Chassis Kit

The 3Com Switch 7754 chassis bundle provides the foundation for delivering performance, security and Quality of Service in a modular seven-slot chassis optimized for workgroup edge deployments. This bundle includes a 4-slot chassis with a pre-installed power supply and fan assembly, switch fabric must be ordered separately. The chassis supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) with the addition of the 3Com Switch 775X External PoE Power Rack and a 3Com Switch 7700 48-port 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE module or Switch 7700 48-port 10/100BASE-TX PoE module (sold separately). Available modules provide Ethernet/Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and 10-Gigabit Ethernet with copper or fiber connectivity. This chassis can scale to 144 Fast Ethernet, 148 Gigabit Ethernet or three 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports. The backplane is passive (contains no active components) for the highest reliability. It features thermal shutdown: temperature sensors allow the system to shut down modules (including the switch fabric module) on a per slot basis if the temperature exceeds parameters. Operating temperatures are set for the modules individually, allowing less critical modules to shut down first. The 3Com Operating System consolidates administrative control over the switching infrastructure when using 3Com management application software such as 3Com Enterprise Management Suite and 3Com Network Director.
