This power strip has a fairly useful placement of outlets, a very long cord and a flat wall plug. The MAJOR down side is that the on off switch is REALLY easy to accidentally turn off which can have catastrophic results! I have it taped in the 'on' position to avoid this and it is fine but it should not be that way. I tried using the cord management thingy on the end and while cords go in there I did not feel it was a significant improvement on the situtation and if it is thick and somewhat stiff computer cords it will not push back down and stay down. The flat plug is great but like all flat plugs (no idea why??)the cord comes out to one side (in this case the right if you are looking at the wall) and if you want the cord to go left then it is a little harder to manage. Not a major deal, just don't see why the cord cant come out of the bottom of the wall plug! Note: The cord is very long which is too much of a good thing, if your wall outlet is close to where you are using it, the stiffness of the cord makes it a nuisance. I would not consider this a flaw, just something to think about when buying. I used to need a long one but moved and now it is in the way!

Forget all those so-called surge protectors you get for less than $10.00. After buying this one, the others are just a waste of money. I had a problem with my Tivo unit having a loss of signal on certain channels. Since I installed the Belkin SurgeMaster, the problem no longer exists. Plus, the picture on the televison is better. Ive know purchased additional ones and have my computer on it. Very pleased. I don't want to use any other type.

I looked all around Amazon for a reasonably priced surge protector and ended up ordering two of these (~$18 each). It's self-evident from the pictures about the number and spacing of the plugs. I use it for my computer setup, which like a lot of computers, have a whole lot of plugs to accomadate (BTW plugs are easy to insert). There are indicator lights for "protected" and "grounded". Belkin also offers a $150k warranty with this model, though I'm curious how well it's honored. The true test of this surge protector is during a fault event, but of course, you don't wish for those to happen. I have lots of other sensitive electronic equipment connected to all different types of surge protectors, and generally have not had problems. I'm not sure if you are buying much better practical protection for average home electronics when you are spending $50-100 on a surgeprotector. EDIT: Each of the plugs has an individual built in retractable cover that helps to keep the dust out when not in use. GREAT FEATURE!
