I bought this to house a used Toshiba MK6008GAH hard drive (60GB) I bought on eBay. It was the only 1.8" enclosure I could find, but I wish I would have looked a little more before settling on this one. The top and bottom of the enclosure (silver-colored part in the photo) are aluminum, and the sides are plastic. It comes with a taller plastic part for taller 1.8" drives, and a shorter plastic part for shorter 1.8" drives. The top cover did not fit well for me--there is one screw attaching the top, and it passes through a hole in the plastic part and a tab on the top. I had trouble fitting the tab behind the circuit board because the circuit board was situated tightly against the back of the case. I ended up using a Dremel to remove about a half-millimeter from the circuit board so the tab could fit behind it (yes, it works fine). I also had some difficulty attaching the top and bottom parts of the case to the larger plastic part (it comes assembled, attached to the smaller plastic part). The top and bottom are slightly too large and it took a little more effort to massage them into place than I was happy with, given the thinness of the metal. With everything in place, the top bulges up slightly (there's some grounded padding inside the top cover). The screwdriver that comes with the package is very delicate, so be careful when attaching the top cover. I ended up destroying the screwdriver, so hopefully, I won't have to replace the drive any time soon. Lastly, I don't feel that this case is a good value. For nearly $30, I expected the thing to be a lot sturdier, and to be made entirely of metal. The top and bottom feel like they're barely attached and would go flying off if I dropped the case. It does come with extra screws, and a protective holster.

Very good small and compact enclosure. I prefer to use it with a very short or retractable USB.
