First things First:Well I just cant say enough about all my purchases from Amazon.com "Due~Note" that all my experiences with Amazon has been outstanding!!! And rest assure, this wont be my last purchase either. Their prices are un-matched to the many other websites that I have viewed. And my recent purchase of the Sony CFDG505 BoomBox is awesome! This BoomBox has everything that you would ask for in a Terrific sounding 'Big Bass Thumping' Radio. it has a CD player, AM/FM Digital tuner, and a cassette player to boot!! It is not only Great sounding but pretty cool looking as well. I have looked and looked to find a standard BoomBox and trust me this was a rare find! Since the 'ERA' of the i-pod coming into everybodies daily live's. So simply put all the other Radio's I looked at, were "all" i-pod compatable? And that is the Number one thing that I did 'NOT' want!! Being I was in the market for a regular Big Bass throat sounding BoomBox to fill my needs for taking camping or just plain outdoor fun And this Radio sure fullfilled all of my expitations and then some! I say buy one you will not be disappointed at all!! This Sony "ROCKS" Bravo.... Amazon & Sony for a great product!! And a super price tag as wel!!

Needed a replacement for the Sony boombox I had due to a lightening strike. I looked and looked for a decent replacement. Just purchased this new CFD-G505 boombox this a.m. Excellent alternative to you "serious equipment" when you can't be near it. Paid $99.99 new. Key features are sound, rich bass, volume levels, cd, remote (batteries not included-needs two AAA batteries) cassette (yes I still have those in a case somewhere) and the determining factor for my purchase: you can play your iPod through it for the cost of a $10 MP3 cable (Dynex). Sound transfer through the MP3 cord is exceptional. I have purchased high quality audio for years. This Sony is provides excellent portable sound for the price. Only downside is the red-light may get annoying, but I'll deal with.

This boom box is well described by the reviews I read on the internet. The sound is great for a versatile, not-too-heavy, and not expensive player. I use the tape player, the CD player, and the radio (which has good reception). I have trouble seeing the displays on the front sometimes and I think the way you open and close the CD hatch seems a little flimsy, but it works and the sound is really fine. I am 66 years old and am amused by the color and decoration more suitable for a 13 year old (perhaps). I play everything from old rock and roll to classical and heavy bass African music on it, as well as taped lectures. I'm very happy with my purchase
