I bought these about 8 months ago and they started falling apart 6 months later. Which is a shame since they fit and sound better than the E2-c earphones they replaced. First, I'll emphasize that they sound great. A little treble-y but still very enjoyable and listenable, not fatiguing at all. Also, they're very comfortable; with the medium pads they fit perfectly and quite securely. Additionally, I love the short cord with an extension. It's perfect for use with a shuffle when I exercise, and I don't find the connectors terribly heavy or inconvenient. Now for the bad news. My last pair of Shure earphones lasted 4 years before a bad connection did them in. While my SE210s are still working, I'm not sure how much longer they'll last. The insulation on the wire leading into the right earphone has pulled back, exposing the conductor below. I use my earphones at work and when I'm exercising, but I don't put any unusual stresses on them, so I have no idea how the wire was damaged. Additionally, part of the body of the 'phones are clad in a nice soft material (silicone, perhaps?). On the left earphone the material has pulled away and hangs off in a little flap. Overall, while I like the sound quality and the fit, the finish leaves much to be desired.

I had an iPod and now an iPhone. I wanted a pair of earphones that were better than the Apple-supplied earphones that were such a pain to wear, so I bought some $40 cheapies. They were much better than what I had. Then my brother-in-law bought some Shures and I was hooked. I work in the oilfield, and that means a lot of helicopter flights, which means a lot of noise. Just to be able to tolerate the flight, you must wear hearing protection. Sometimes this is foam earplugs (much like the earbud tips that come with these earphones), sometimes it's the over-the-ear earmuff-style protectors, sometimes both. But with these, I don't need anything else (that is not an endorsement to eschew hearing protection, just a personal note). I don't have to jack up the volume to hear my music; and if they're good enough in that environment, just imagine what they'll do under less noisy, "normal" circumstances. They're comfortable enough to sleep with for me (there's a lot of snorers offshore). I find that the bass may be a LITTLE underdone, but I definitely hear it better than in my car even, probably due to the sound-isolation aspect. I also had a warranty issue that required me to return my earphones to Shure (by the way, there's a 2 year warranty). In 10 days, including shipping, I had a brand-new pair. Great product, great service. Do yourself a favor and get some!

The Shure SE210 Earphone's sounded great and worked good when I first got them, but after less then a month of jogging, and regular gym workouts, the left earbud decided to stop working. Maybe I just got a bad pair, but I'm angry I spent so much money on what I thought was a decent pair of Earphones just for them to break a few weeks later.
