I was very concerned about these headphones after reading these reviews but my fears turned out to be groundless. I first tried them in my home which has a wireless router and there was some background noise with the headphone volume turned up, but when I took them to my summer home there was only slight hissing if they were turned up too loud to listen to. When I turned the volume up on my receiver and turned the volume down on the headphones they were perfectly acceptable. The charging base has worked flawlessly and I have had no trouble with the headphones turning themselves off while using or with the batteries going dead. They don't offer quite the range of sound of my studio quality Sony corded headphones but they are very convenient.

Since these headphones work at 900mhz, I suspect that those having problems may be using them in proximity to old cordless phones that worked on the same frequesncy. We live in an apartment where I can detect 15-20 wireless networks, we have a microwave, and we use cell phones. My wife can even walk into another room without losing signal. We've had these for about 18 months and really like them. My wife is a little hard of hearing and a comfortable volume for her is not comfortable for the rest of us. I searched and read a lot of reviews before giving these a shot. Despite my wife's initial skepticism, she tells me how much she likes them. I do, too :)

Buying these headphones was a mistake. I purchased them simply so I could watch a little TV late at night without disturbing the rest of the family. I am by no means an audiophile, so my expectations weren't high, but I did expect better, especially considering the price. At times these headphones do sound good, but that is usually when the sound coming through them lacks bass. Once any type of bass comes through, the headphones start to distort and almost sound as if they are blown out. Since most TV shows have some type of explosion or music in the background, it is difficult not to get annoyed while using them. They also tend to crackle if other wireless objects are placed near them (e.g. - laptop). While these headphones were charging for the first time, I did come on to Amazon and read the other reviews, and I'd have to agree with most of the negative ones. It also reminded me of a conversation I had with the audio expert at one of the Circuit City stores just before they closed. He said, if you buy Sony, make it a TV. Sony isn't known for quality audio products, only video, and after buying these headphones, I'd have to say he was right.
