I purchased this notebook adapter in concert with a D-Link wireless N router to replace a D-Link Airplus Xxtreme G adapter and Linksys wireless G router, hoping for increased range. It was easy to install, but the wireless N upgrade failed to make any noticeable increase in range.

I even bought the DWA-652 for my PC and I have had more issues with this slowing down or freezing my PC. These issues may be do to my XP service pack 3 configuration, but really that is not acceptable. It should not matter if I have service pack 2 or 3. It should just work, and Yes I do have the right to have the most current service pack on my PC, Security is very important I install programs and software on many computer networks so I need the maximum security for my computer. This product is not ready for primetime.

If you have a home network and are moving large files around then you need to go to Extreme N specs. This card plugged in, ran the setup disk, checked for new firmware and drivers and then it has functioned flawlessly for over a year. Easily falls back at hotels etc to wireless G but still provides better signal detection. If you are home gaming or networking with an extreme N router then this card is easy and fast.
