From 2003-2009 I used 2 different Cobras. While they served their purpose, they also had an immense amount of false alarms to the point where it was embarrassing to have others in the car as it would go off frequently and annoy my guests. I tried a Beltronics this year as the company has a reputation of excellence and my Beltronics V940 did not disappoint. It gave me clear and early warnings when radar was being used and false alarms were minimal. I just finished a 1750 mile road trip, and this product is partly the reason I received no tickets along the way.

My Beltronic V940 is music to my ears. Every time I hear the "churp" I know it's doing its job and more. The "smokies" are now coming out of the bushes and not the emergency route on the xpresswy. This unit picks them up every time. If you do a lot of traveling, you need to consider a Beltronics Radar/laser detector. I will never be without mine.

The detector is very satisfactory. It performs all it's functions as described in the easy to follow manual. The only negative I find is the weight of the instrument.
