I had the same idea as a previous reviewer to get the 2.5mm adapter and use this headset for my mobile phone. While it is very comfortable and incoming sound is great, out going sound is bad from my Sprint Motorola RAZR ve20 cell phone. I also got the same result when trying this headset with another Sanyo cell phone. The outgoing voice is audible, but of noticably bad quality. Basically, my outgoing voice sounds like it is over-driven and it is tinged with distortion when using this headset with my mobile phone. I realized this problem by conducted a few tests by leaving voicemail messages for myself. When I plugged into my office landline using the regular phone jack, inbound and outbound voice quality was great with the SH330. So, even though Sennheiser sells the 2.5mm adapter, it seems that the mic on this headset does not do well when put through the 2.5mm jack. I picked up a less expensive headset with a 2.5mm plug (no adapter needed) - Panasonic KX-TCA60. This model is less comfortable on my head than the Sennheiser, but inbound and outbound voice are great. With the Panasonic, my outbound voice is just as clear as when using no headset at all.

I find that the sound from the Sennheiser headset is actually worse than from the $25 headsets I can buy at Staples. Moreover, you need to buy an adapter cord to actually plug it into a phone, adding another $20 or so to the cost. The headset cord, plus the adapter cord, makes for a really long cord--too long, actually. When wearing the headset while standing up, the cord almost drags to the floor. I bought this headset because I hoped that it would last longer than the $25 variety. Now I'm not so sure that I want it to.

In particular, this headset picks up loud, distorted sideband. If I could, I would lower my review to two starts.
