I use these headphones at the office, and they do a good job of blocking out pretty much all the noise around. I can't hear officemates discussing issues, or a co-worker sneaking into my cube. They deliver great sound quality, much better clarity and bass than I was expecting. The design of the headphones presses against the side of my head after wearing them for a couple hours though, but I just adjust the angle that they are sitting in.

If you are like me and can't wear the Ear bud style headphones, then you know how difficult it is these days to find a good pair of headphones. I went to the local Best Buy and they're selection consisted of an entire wall of ear buds in every conceivable color and price. They had exactly one set of headphones that were over the ear like the PMX100's. It was a Sony pair and they were about $15.00, so I bought them and they were horrible!!!The sound quality was pathetic. Anyway the PMX100's are fantastic, the sound is great for this price range and they are quite comfortable. Excellent bass and treble. I didn't have a problem with them hurting my ear after extended listening like some other reviewers here. But I'm used to this style of headphone. Also the "Halo" effect was not as bad as other headphones of this style that I've tried. Overall a great set of headphones, I would highly recommend them.

soundstage is wider, highs are more open and bass is more prominent. i noticed a difference after break in and like these much more than the px100s (black edition). these are very enjoyable to listen to for the price they cant be beat. clamp force is stronger than px 100s which some users may find fatiguing audiophiles look elsewhere. get some grados.... i use these as my portable headphones, they sound awesome
