These earphones combined with the Sennheiser 820s receiver works great, especially for listening to television, if you are hearing impaired. Shuts out outside noise and brings through sound crisp and clear. It's a bit hard on the ears [tight]. See my Sennheiser 820s report.

Hi- These headphones have great response to sounds - AKA they sound clear. However, this is not the case with the bass. If you are a DJ, or a bass lover, they are lacking in that department. They can get solid bass really only when turned up very loud or when there are no mids/highs currently playing. But, all in all they have great sound. As far as durability, they currently feel solid.

Peer to peer with HD595, my first impression with HD280 Silver was the great attenuation of outer noise but on the other hand, it is less comfortable, anyway this situation is common for any one previously using a comfortable Headphones so it was noticeable for me since I'm using the most comfortable set (HD595). When it comes to sound quality, HD280 is really a fun to listen especially during playing video games which blow me away much than HD595. For music listening HD595 reveals low-level musical detail and soundstage than HD280 but the bass of HD280 is more presented than HD595. OK, I would recommend HD280 to any enthusiast of games and often to professional recorders since it has perfect attenuation of outer noise. If you are caring about music quality and comfortable wearing go for HD555, if you are caring about gaming audio then HD280 is more immersive with both having competitive price.
