I picked up a refurbished pair for $10 with a 90-day warranty, so, I'm holding my breath on their lifespan. How they've performed so far: Pros: + cheap + GREAT sound (especially considering the price) + decent ambient noise cancellation (about 60 - 70% IMO) + solid, aesthetically pleasing design + Ohm frequency of 32 means it can push your iPod pretty darn well without killing the batteries Cons: - uncomfortable/tight (this can be easily remedied by stretching them out over a couch arm, basketball, or computer tower over a few nights or so) - long-ish cord somewhat limits portability Overall: Excellent pair of cans for the money.

I decided to buy these headphones just for use with my Zune mp3 player as an upgrade from the current Zune ear buds I was using (the kind that came with it, and not the ones that are the premium kind). When these headphones first arrived in the mail I was impressed at how they looked like real high quality. I initially noticed that it had a very long cord that would be excessive for my use considering it really only needed to be long enough to go to my pocket, but these headphones were also supposed to be studio headphones and probably say the cord length in the description so I decided that that was a minor problem that was my fault for not noticing, but no big deal. As soon as I put them on however, I noticed they felt really tight, and I have a modestly average size head. None the less I dismissed the thought for the moment because I was anxious to hear them in action. The sound quality was ok, but in all honesty not much (if at all) better than the ear buds I had already. By the time I was done sampling a few songs I noticed my ears really really hurt. I heard that it helps to stretch them out by putting them on an object slightly larger than your head, so I tried letting them stretch for about a day. Alas, my efforts were to no avail. They still feel really tight on my head and ears. When I decided to go for a run with them on one day I soon felt I had a thumping head ache and my ears hurt. A problem I never had with my ear buds. I have worn friends and families head phones before and never have had a problem like this so I know it's not that I just can't handle headphones. To be fair I should mention they feel like they are made from strong durable plastic but in the end that's not what counts. Bottom line is unless you have a really small head or only plan to use them for five minutes at a time you should probably keep looking.
