After trying the cheaper Atlantic stands from amazon (which are horrible BTW), I finally found the stands I was looking for. The Quality is amazing. The instructions are a little vague, but everything else is superb. I bought these stands for the Sony BRAVIA DAV-HDX589W 5.1-Channel Theater System. They work beautifully.

I believe the carpet spikes and lock ring are metric, therefore if you have imperfect threads, you need a metric tap & die set to chase the threads. Many folks DO NOT have these metric tools. Secondly, there is nothing to hold the carpet spike - while trying to tighten the carpet spike lock ring. I found that the poorly formed threads on some of the carpet spikes caused the spike to not screw in easily. I used a pliers to grasp and turn, further damaging the threads. I finally removed all the carpet spikes, and just sat the base directly on the carpet. All other aspects of the stand seem good.

I received these speaker stands very quickly from TheFactoryDepot. Assembly was very easy. They are sturdy, with very heavy metal bases and they also look great. You won't go wrong with these stands!
