I purchased the Sansa e250 with the intention of using it with Audible, as it is listed on Audible's website but alas, it was not to be as Audible only works on the e250 "version2". Not something you can upgrade to either. I then shrugged my shoulders and figured that I would use it as a video player on airplanes when I travel (which I do alot). Out of the 10 times I have tried to use the "Sansa Media Converter" software with .avi video files it has actually worked twice. It did a great job those 2 times, but the rest of the time the application would appear to hang. If I executed the "three finger salute" to end the application, Windows (XP, SP2) would indicate that the program was waiting for a response from me, but there was no window to respond to. As far as adding media to the SD card, that seems problematic as the device can't seem to "get there from here". I have not been able to play .wma or .mp3 files from memory installed into the additional SD slot. Aside from the fact that I can't use the device, it has worked fine with good video (when it worked) and good sound quality (when you can get to the files). If they could fix the "Sansa Media Converter" (software by ArcSoft) I would be a happy camper and could overlook the other non-functioning features.

I love my little e250. I mostly use it for music and podcasts while running. (You can get inexpensive silicone skins and arm straps for it, as well as charging cables for the car or AC outlets.) It's easy to move music on and off and to set up playlists. I did manage to kill my first one by getting it really wet, but it's electronic equipment, so I shouldn't have gotten it wet. I don't like the placement of the record button because I often accidentally push it and make a recording of myself saying " $#&*, I pushed the record button again," which I then have to erase. That's a minor quibble, though.

Bought this for a friend who is not techno-oriented. I charged it and loaded music on it for her. She absolutely loves it. Perfect size; easy to read screen; no problems navigating for a non-techno. Probably not the best player for someone looking for a lot of bells and whistles, nor a lot of memory. But if you want a really solid, good capacity, easy to use MP3, then this one is for you.
