I have taken over 5,000 images in RAW format using the SanDisc Extreme IV 8GB card. I have not had a single image failure. I shoot with a Nikon D300. The card is extremely fast, even when shooting a 8 fps. I highly recommend this card. A bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the speed and reliability.

As the title states, this is an excellent card for the higher end D-SLRs. It's one of the fastest rated cards on the market with the backing of arguably the most recognized brand for memory cards. These cards are, however, very expensive (at least to my mind), so don't waste your money on them unless your camera (and you) can take advantage of the fantastic speed they provide. The best example would be sports or action photography where, if your camera is capable of it, this camera will allow you to take a lot more shots in high speed burst mode than a slower card. If you're just shooting snapshots or even nature or still life photography where you don't take shots in rapid succession, I'd say this might be a waste of money for you. Check the specs on your camera and confirm that it can fully utilize the speed offered by this card. Oh, and also worth noting is that SanDisk refreshed this model line sometime in 2008 (I think) and upped the rated speed from 40mb/s to 45 mb/s. Make sure you get the right one!

Be very careful when purchasing these Extreme IV 8.0GB "Sandisk" CF cards. I bought one that was also a counterfeit on here and after it failed and I lost all of my photos, I contacted the manufacturer only to find out that the card is counterfeit. I have many other Sandisk cards and could not tell the difference between the real cards and this fake one, so be very careful. I lost hundreds of photos from a trip I recently took that can never be replaced. I wouldn't risk it if I were you.
