This monitor replaced my older HP 17 inch LCD monitor that came with my HP computer. Automatically I saw a huge difference in color and detail. I am very happy with this monitor especially with the price. My computer does have a stand alone Nvidia Graphics card. I do understand that some people may be disappointed with this monitor due to re-boots or bad text but if they do not understand that higher definition monitors may require a higher end graphics card (a stand alone vs. an integrated one)or may require some tweaking, then a bad review is uncalled for a great monitor that calls for a better system.

I went somewhere else (not Amazon) and bought this monitor for my brand new computer - and once hooked up my computer kept shutting down and rebooting for no apparent reason. It also cause Internet Explorer to shut down several times. At first I thought it was the cable but the user cannot put a better cable on this monitor since the "cut out" on the back won't fit anything correctly - possibly including the cable that came with it. I returned the monitor and hooked up my old 17 inch NEC monitor - it's a little blurry around the edges but at least my new computer isn't being randomly rebooted! 1 star rating is too high for this - it's about a negative 5 star in my book! My advice to anyone? Buy NEC!
