It looks like a nice monitor. I ordered one on 1/1/2008 for $703.79 . On 1/4/2008, the order was cancelled. I was surprised given the monitors age. It couldn't be out of stock. Upon checking, I found the problem. Amazon cancelled my order so they could raise the price to $789.99. Big thanks to Amazon. I ordered the better reviewed BenQ FP241W from elsewhere. Watch out for the price hikes. They are unannounced and after you order. May be better to go elsewhere... Paul

I've now owned this monitor for a year and still love it to the extent that I would buy another today. I went from a mitsubishi 20" CRT which is the same as a Sony trinitron monitor. My mitsu was big and cumbersome and starting to take a dive. I have always heard that CRTs are better for graphics programs but I like this 244T better. Having now used a wide screen with this Samsung, I could never go back to a 4:3 monitor ever again. The extra room with this 24" is a Godsend. I have dual monitors specifically for the use of apps like photoshop and other adobe apps that have a ton of palettes. I now no longer use that second monitor for the palettes I use. This 24" wide screen is more than enough room for both plenty of screen space for your work and the palettes. Especially since Adobe has gotten better in enabling you to store and stack palettes. I have kept the second monitor for other reasons but not for the original reason of storing palettes. The MagicRotation feature is a neat feature but I don't use it. It may be very useful to others for long documents. The screen quality is incredible and blows away any monitor I have previously had. Some people talk about calibrating their monitors with programs and the like but I really don't see that being necessary. If you produce stuff that ends up on the web or is printed then it becomes a mute point and I am more than happy with the default settings it comes with. The only thing I could see doing is lowering the brightness. Especially if you are coming from a CRT. I bought this monitor for $1000 a year ago and would do it again. It is now at $730 something and is a value as far as I'm concerned. Everyone who I know who is knowledgeable in computer products swears by Samsung monitors and I now know why. Even if you don't buy something this large, a Samsung is still the way to go.
