The replacement bulb and housing works in the Sony TV as stated, however, it has an annoying habit of switching the bulb off for 20-30 seconds as it's warming up initially. Then it allows the bulb to power on again and come up to full illumination. Cheaper than a new TV or the manufacturer's replacement bulb.

If you're buying this lamp to replace yourself, you might as well go this route: [...] It will take you 10 minutes longer and will save you 50% or more depending on weather you buy a Sony or aftermarket lamp. It's very simple to replace the bulb inside the assembly.

Much cheaper than buying factory replacement. Fit and finish were excellent. I have a Sony 42" WEGA rear-projection LCD.
