RE: RCA ViSYS 2 line phone. Model: 25204RE1 I was very shocked to read all these negative reviews when I popped onto Amazon to buy another one of these. I think this is the ultimate phone for business use, hands down. I've been using it relentlessly, 7 days a week, for over 2 years and the performance is unequaled. I make outgoing phone calls for a living and it is not unusual for me to make 300-500 calls a day. Obviously, I need a high performance phone. I'm very picky about equipment, so when I needed a new business phone, I literally bought every desk phone they had at Best Buy, Walmart, and Office Depot (up to $200.00 each), and brought them all home for side-by-side testing. None could compare to this phone. Not only were the buttons more easy to press (and therefore faster to dial), but the tone and clarity are great and if that were not enough, the built-in equalizer can be a life-saver when a customer on the other end is difficult to understand. I disagree with the buttons being poorly placed. Having the headset, speaker, mute, and equalizer in larger buttons that stand out makes perfect sense to me, as these are the ones you will use when you are actually ON a call and need them fast. The redial you can hit in your leisure. Since others have complained about it, I will tell you that the redial button is the topmost button on the right, so it's easy to hit once you learn the location, whether the text is tiny or not. I do agree that the speaker phone leaves a bit to be desired. The quality on that is not very good, but this is a problem on most phones, so I can overlook that. This was the ONLY business phone that let me customize things like the loudness of the keytones in my ear while dialing (super important for a high-volume caller) and the tone quality of the incoming voice (equalizer). When you reach someone who is difficult to understand because of sound quality, you can adjust (live, on the fly) the bass, treble, and richness of their voice to make it easier to understand. I love this feature, and this seems to be the only phone that has it. This is also one of the few phones I've found that works flawlessly with Magic-Jack for both incoming and outgoing calls (although I usually use it with a land line). Unlike some others, I have not had any problem with interference from my cell phone, which sits on my desk. I make such a large volume of calls that I have worn 3 of the number keys down past the numbers, but I could always paint the numbers back on, if I needed them. The fact that I can wear the number pads down before I wear out the phone is a real testament to how dependable this phone is. I did have to return the first of these phones I bought (couldn't adjust the keytone volume) but the one I exchanged it for works perfectly and has been working perfectly for 2 years now. Based on that and the other reviews, I guess some of these phones are defective when you buy them, but based on my experience with this phone - especially compared to other phones I've used - I will buy it again even if I have to go through several of them to find one in perfect working order. To me, it's worth it. I seriously don't know of any other phone on the market that can perform as well as this one does and or that offers as many premium features critical to a high-volume caller, like me. This desktop business phone gets my highest marks!

All memory is battery dependent. If the phone get accidently unplugged from the power outlet, the battery dies fast and you lose all your directory info ans speed dial settings. And, my phone refuses to recognize new good batteries.

RCA ViSYS - 2 line speakerphone w Integrated answering system I purchased this product in the hopes of getting a quality desk phone for my home. This is worst telephone I have ever bought. The Caller ID does not work. When I try to use a headset with the phone, I can hardly hear the person(s) at the other end. At times, when a call comes in the receiver goes dead. If the caller calls again immediately, I can hear them on the second attempt. The Product Support is through Thomson Inc. Their support staff can barely speak English. They do not seem to know the product very well. It is obvious when you call them, they place the problem into a scripted template to come up with a solution. The solution in this case was to replace the phone. They have done that twice. Each time, the replacement phone had the same problems. On the last replacement, I had asked for a refund of the purchase price, via letter. They have a website, but are not connected to product support as of yet. They responded to me thanking me for pointing out the problems. That is it, no mention of a refund, or how to fix the probem. I will never buy another RCA Phone. Looks like I am stuck with this one.
