This unit is the simplest and easiest to install and understand, and the most affordable in the market. The RCA connectors are a plus. I recommend to use it for tri-amping to get the best out of it. If you bi-amp with this unit you will get the lows and mids under control, but the highs will go flat to be handled by the internal passive crossovers of the speakers, but based on my own experience the sound is still amazing. For my tri-amped system, I set myself a pair of speakers with no internal crossovers, and using this unit I control the subs, the lows, the mid-lows, the mids, the mid-highs, and the highs. The music sounds so crystal clear that I can hear every detail. I lately tried a DBX unit with 24 DB Slope, and I was so dissapointed that I returned it. I could not get control of the mids at all with the DBX unit, and it was also a noise coming out of the speakers at all times. I would upgrade to 24 DB Slope if I can find a user-friendly unit like the PYLE with that feature.

This product uses 2nd order 12 dB/slopes which is not the industry standard. This information is not available on the website. The only way to find this out is to buy the unit and examine it. Hooking the unit up is not necessary to see that it won't work. The selectable crossover frequencies are useless and the technology so old and obsolete the unit has no practical application. I have returned the unit for a full refund which was promptly given without a problem. Tracking of the shipping was excellent. I recently ordered a DBX unit which uses 24dB/octave slopes...the industry standard for not that much more.

When the second of my Crown VFX-2 crossovers died a year ago, I went looking for a more modern replacement. The only choice on the market, within reasonable price limitations, was the Pyle. It's given me a year of flawless service, with excellent fidelity and flexible controls (not only variable turnover frequencies, like the Crown, but also very helpful variable level controls which the Crown did not have). I can highly recommend the PYX3X for any biamped or triamped system.
