My previous presentation remote broke, and I was forced to purchase another. I first purchased an inexpensive brand online. When I went to use it, I was very disappointed in it's performance. So I bit the bullet and purchased the more expensive Keyspan remote. The first time I used it, I thought, "why didn't I just go with this one from the start?". It has been a pleasure to use. I love the hidden compartment for the USB component, and the way it feels in my hand. The on/off switch clicks into place so you know its on or off. Has a very strong laser pointer, and several other cool features. I recommend this remote.

I don't use PowerPoint or Keynote for presentations. I use Photoshop's scripts and automation tools to export slides to a PDF presentation. (Heresy, I know, but I'm so much happier!) I chose the Keyspan for its mouse capabilities, thinking that that's what I'd use for PDF. I was surprised and DELIGHTED to see that all the functions designed for PowerPoint and Keynote - forward, back, scroll wheel, mouse -- also work perfectly for Acrobat presentations. There's no learning curve. Getting it out of the blister pack was literally harder and more time-consuming than setting it up. It even came with batteries installed. Not cheap, but well worth the money!

This is a high quality and well designed product. It worked very easily with both my Vista 32 machine and my Windows 2000 machine. I'm not going to restate what others have said concerning this product's merits, but just think for a moment that for the price of this you can buy an RF keyboard. That is, an entire remote keyboard that lets you do everything on your computer, not just duplicate the mouse function. Of course, if you really just need to be able to click through those power point slides while you walk around the conference room demonstrating your brilliance to your minions, customers, or corporate leaders, I can't see how you would go wrong with this.
