I purchased this product to do some lap swimming at my wellness center and have the ability to listen to some music while doing so. The device is easy enough to load your mp3's onto with the included software. The sound quality is mediocre at best which is the fault of the poor quality of the ear buds. The ear buds are often difficult to keep in your ears at all times as they tend to slide out of your ear during quick underwater movement. I have a slight problem with the price of this device considering its small size and the fact that it is basically a USB flash drive inside of a water tight container. Final Word: This waterproof mp3 player is probably a better bet in its price range than other models from other companies, so if you don't need perfect quality sound then this is the player for you!

I was excited by the positive reviews of this product, and immediately loaded music in WMA format on it when I received it. The instruction manual appears to have been written by someone who is not proficient in English, and it doesn't tell you how to load music until the last page. Most of the manual is spent telling you how to load software onto Windows 98 (I have an XP computer). After I finally was able to fill the drive with music, I put a battery in, and nothing happened. The light came on and would not power off unless I took the battery out. Music would not play when the play button was pressed. I re-checked to make sure I hadn't made a mistake and not successfully loaded my music, but it was all there. The device is defective, and I'm going to try to get my money back, but the return policy from the seller makes it seem like they'll even charge a restocking fee for this defective device. Don't waste your money or valuable time on this.

The mini cd doesn't fit into cd drive so I couldn't test loading the drivers. I got it to work exactly once with my MacIntosh and iTunes converted to mp3 files. After that...nothing... Very disappointed.

I bought this specifically for water aerobics in my community pool to drown out the screaming children. I love it. It does take a little getting use to and the instructions are written in translation software English when means they make no sense - "glinting" means flashing. Unless you are using WINDOWS 98, throw out the little CD, you don't need it. It's a simple flash drive and all you have to do is drop and drag the music onto the player. Getting the music to play at first was a challenge. But I learned - long push on the "on" button, till the light stays lit, then like one "click" on the same button and the music starts to play. Once you have that down, it's a piece of cake. It does take a little patience in the beginning and I think some people just gave up and concluded it didn't work. Well worth the money in my book to enjoy the water on a beautiful day listening to Antonio Carlos Jobim.

I have a hard time hearing because of the noise of the water and breathing underwater - - - plus I have difficulty keeping the earphones seated in my ear -- water gets in there and then the sound is muffled, etc. So frustrating! The adapters don't fit my ears at all -- such is life. Nonetheless, it's a cool thing, and when I can get it to work, it helps break the boredom. I've learned to put vaseline on the gasket and threads EVERY time -- it got wet on one of my first uses, but I put it on a vent that was blowing fresh air, and it seemed to be fine afterwards. Lucky me . . . ! The volume buttons serve 2 functions -- fast push and you go to the next selection . . .slow push, you get an increase or decrease in volume as appropriate ----- SOOOO frustrating to try to adjust the volume and accidentally advance to the next selection --- . I don't think I would go with a 256mb again because I listen to a lot of NPR hour programs, and it will only hold about 6 of them --- but . . . the price was right on this one, and it got me started.

It was difficult getting it to work properly at first. The manual is almost useless and the buttons don't work as you'd expect. For instance, to turn it on you have to press and hold PLAY for several seconds. Quirks aside, once in the water the sound quality is surprisingly good. I had several iPod cases and expensive waterproof headphones and this devices beats them all hands down. The problem is that the headphone cable is flimsy and from normal use it broke at the base where it connects to the unit. These are not replaceable, so now I need a new unit.
