I was looking for a headset with microphone to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking. Dragon's website listed a previous version of this headset as being compatible with their software. After several calls with Dragon and Plantronics, I determined this headset met and exceeded the requirements needed for Dragon Naturally Speaking. I'm using it right now. With my previous headset, Dragon Naturally Speaking, did not properly recognize what I said. With this headset I have not had any problem. The sound quality is outstanding. The headset is comfortable to wear and does not apply to lot of pressure to your ears. Both connection types work well. The headset also folds to a size that will fit in your briefcase. The microphone boom is one half rigid and one half flexible.

This is a great, moderately priced headset for recording audio as well as for VOIP and chat. It comes with an analog plug as well as a USB DSP. The headset is comfortable for extended wear, as it is light and the earpiece is adequately padded. When used for recording, there is little extraneous noise created by the headset, a problem with some other headsets I've used. The only drawback I've found is low recording volume through the DSP, although this can be readily corrected by recording software. All in all, a good value; not the cheapest headset available, but far from the most expensive.

The sound quality is impressive, for both headset and microphone. The folding design is nice. However, mine broke after 30 days of relatively light use (for Skype only). I would avoid this item. Note, this review is for the Plantronics 470 (USB) headset.
