AT&T Bogen Friday FR-2000 Two-Line Digital Answering System w/ Call Forwarding (Refurbished)

   I've had the Friday / Fax / Answer Machine 2000 many years...since about 1998....YEP! bought it in OfficeMax it's been around for a long time. I'm a Realtor & we also have a family owned landscape business. The Friday has to be one of the BEST things we ever attached to our phone lines (we have 2). It's not your typical ez plug n go cheap machine. The Friday is a mini VOICE MAIL record n notify machine...it takes a bit of reading before set up and then some time in a quiet area to set it up right...don't rush :) It has 6 separate mail boxes...we use 3. Each mail box has it own unique settings for leaving messages and retrieval locally or by remote via phone line. It plugs into the electrical outlet and has a 9V backup battery that seems to last almost forever...I've only had to replace it once in all these years. It can forward to my pager or my cell phone or my other office etc. It doesn't lose settings in a power outage like many cheap machines. After Hurricane Wilma 10/2005 we were without power for 3 1/2 weeks. Friday worked perfect when the power came back on and all our messages were still stored...it was perfect again (keep tract of the battery during an extended power outage to keep things stored. The model I have can operate on 1 phone line or 2 and switches call to my fax when needed. If you want it to page or call forward to somewhere else you have to have 2 SEPARATE phone line...not piggy back ring master. It's worth the effort to set it up properly and for sure I wish Bogen would keep making this machine and also bring the price down so more people would buy it and realize the professional quality this machine is. It's fairly small, hangs on the wall and isn't an eye sore in my kitchen. Some Bogen Friday machines have been discontinued but they are still around NEW if you search the net for them. Bogen has a very useful site I've added below. BTW as a Realtor I get many, many calls n messages...this machine has never let us down. ENJOY! [...]

   This item did not meet my expectations. The call forwarding volume was very low and the answering machine did not hang up when someone choose not to leave a message. I don't recommend this!
