   I was very skeptical, especially at this price point, that this device would work as well as advertised. My New York apartment had zero cell reception in the bedroom, while if I sat on the living room windowsill I had 3/5 bars. After installing the antenna high on the wall in the window and the base station in the bedroom I have 5 bars throughout the whole apartment with perfect reception. Given the relative impossibility of finding any place in Manhattan more than a few feet from something metal I was unable to completely follow the recommendations, but still it works flawlessly. Definitely a buy if you're living in a "dead zone".

   I finally bought the extender to hopefully improve my one/two bar reception. I followed the instructions, looked at the FAQ's and there was no improvement. My installation was inside the attic near a window where I was getting 3-full bars. The signal in the room with the extender unit was no better than the two bars I get on a good day. I watched the lights flicker as they should for my "band" and I saw a minimal improvement when right next to the box. When not next to the box, there was no improvement at all. I think they need to make the base unit more powerful? Also, the base and the antenna were separated by the entire lenght of supplied cable and was not in the same room. I tested my wife's iPhone and it was even worse. It did not register any improvement at all. Maybe the exterior installation is only way the extender works, but note carefully that routing a coax cable down to the location of desired service is quite a process you must be willing to undertake. The unit is on its way back to Amazon, and I really wish this unit could have improved my reception. I would not recommend this product based upon my experience.

   This products works great, if you install it properly. I have a 5 bar signal on my roof, but 0-2 bars in the house. So I put the antenna on the roof, ran the cable down the side of my house and into the basement, where I then ran the cable straight across from where it enter the house to a point in the center of my basement. It's now right in the center of the house, just below the ceiling. In the basement, we now get between 2-5 bars, and on the first floor, we get 1-4. This claims to cover 2500 sq ft, and we have an 1800 sq ft house... but it doesn't cover the whole thing very well. When you're in the basement in the room beside where it is, it works great (5 bars)... but if you go into the first floor and away from the center of the house, you sometimes drop down to 1-2 bars. We have NOT had a dropped call since we got it, which is a HUGE improvement, but I was hoping for more than a 1-2 bar signal when I'm 30 feet away from it. It does work well enough though that I'd recommend it to anybody
