I always have to be on the cutting edge for new equipment. I ordered this phone several times and the phone was back ordered. I should have cancelled the order, but I kept waiting for it. I would say the delay was they were having problems in the production. I could go on to list all the bad things about the phone but suffice it to say they are all bad (except the sleek looks). Save your money and look at the Panasonics. Much better.

I purchased this phone primarily because it has full duplex speakers. My wife and I have hearing difficulties and we like it because the speaker volume is good. The earpiece volume is not loud enough for us to be able to use it. For the most part when you update data on one handset, it is updated on the other handsets too. One thing we do not like is that even though you answer a call on one handset the other handsets will register it as an unanswered call and a red light will start flashing and keep flashing until you clear it in the Caller ID list. Clearing it on one handset does not clear the others. When the handset sits idle the display goes black. You cannot access the phonebook or the Caller ID list directly from that state. You need to press another key like Exit or one of the "soft" keys or whatever to wake it up first. The contact name in the phonebook is limited to 14 characters. I would like it to be more.

This Phillips cordless phone with built in answering machine is very nice with many - many options. The overall design of the phone is very comfortable against your ear and rests easy on your shoulder. I highly recommend this phone to anyone who is thinking about purchasing a new cordless phone. A+
