So Unreliable It Is Nearly Unusable - Do Not Buy
I would buy the Dell GPS System based on Navteq. I have received excellent results from that system on an Axim handheld. The IPS-360 and IPS-500 are also better than this unit. I also recommend using the blue tooth adapter for those and ditch the cables.
Pros: The set up is easy. Software is OK and fairly easy to use. Fairly simple to set destnations and use the software feathers.
Cons: Receiver reception is terrible. I've only managed to establish a lock on a satellite once and this was adjacent to a 40 acre lake in an open area. I was not moving and even then it took several minutes to lock. It picks up satellite signals in suburbs and urban environments, but quickly loses them. It won't read in my apartment (The Dell GPS System based on Navteq does, as does the IPS-500). It won't read through glass windows. That would make using it in a car rather difficult.

Not ready for prime time - Poor reception
Pros: Small and portable, able to run off the Pocket PC's power and / or automobile power
Cons: Reception is spotty. My Pharos SDIO device typically takes about 5 minutes (several 90 second attempts) to initially tune in the GPS signal and often loses the signal while I'm driving. I compare that to my previous PHAROS GPS (not SDIO) that typically tuned in in about 15 seconds and never lost the signal, as well as my car GPS that demonstrates similar performance. Simply too tough to get a good signal.nnAlso requires the installation of an SDIO driver, that is not included with the CD software, nor directly mentioned in the included instructions. Required a trip to the PHAROS website and a conversation with PHAROS customer support to resolve (their website instructions did not work with my Dell Axim X51V).

Slow and Clumsy
Good idea with the antenna, software needs a lot of improvement.
Pros: Compact antenna, quickly installed/removed from SD slot.
Cons: Many.n1. Antenna, if bumped, easily disconnects while in use.n2. Software is terrible, slow and maps contain main roads only.n3. Maps come in 4 CD;s, requiring each section of a state to be loaded prior to your trip, a hassle.n4. Awkward user interface.n5. Voice prompts don't work. have tried everything, still no sound.n6. Maps of roads innacurate and off by .03 mile, always shows the car icon off the road.
