After reading other reviews, I was skeptical of this product. I purchased it anyway, plugged it into my cable modem and found 162 channels including 13 HD channels. The advantage is that I have an iMac with an iTune remote control, that works beautifully with my newfound TV (volume, changing channels) The HD channels look much crisper than on my plasma TV. I don't know how it works on a PC, but I highly recommend it for Mac users. Bill Long Island

Got this for about $70 from amazon.com. On its product information, it is said that this one for Mac won't decode cable digital signal (the Clear QAM thing), while a more expensive model with Clear QAM support costs about $99 at the other places. I am surprised to learn that in fact the one I received DO support Clear QAM. There is a letter Q after the model number WinTV-HVR-950Q; it is a white color version of the same Windows model, but with bundled EyeTV software for Mac. I am happy that I didn't pay that extra $30 premium for a feature I probably never need (if I have digital cable, it's likely encrypted), but can come handy just in case.

The Hauppauge HD TV Stick for Mac is great. I bought this to use up in my bedroom for my Mac Mini, hooked up to a 24" 16:9 monitor. I installed the software, followed the on-screen instructions about when to plug the stick into my Mac Mini, and searched for channels using the included antenna. It found all the channels I wanted in my area, plus some of the more obscure ones. To compare, I have a Terk Amplified antenna hooked up to my downstairs 46" Samsung HDTV, and this Hauppauge set-up is actually more stable than that one. The included software is fantastic. It includes a free registration with Titan TV and all I need to do is go online and it downloads the TV guide for me. I click on the shows I want to record and that's that. I was using my computer as a DVR to watch House and Bones, and all the shows that I wanted. Saving them for future burning/archiving is also very easy. I would definitely recommend this for anyone looking to make their computer into a second TV.
