I have had good luck with Microsoft periferals but this mouse failed me. I've used it everyday for about six months -- I've been a little tough on it but no more than to be expected of a notebook mouse (a little tugging, repeated plugging, winding up to be stored in a case, etc.) The failure seems to be the cord -- probably one of the wires in the cord is fraying. I'm going to replace it with a wireless mouse.

Don't let the low price tag reel you in. The cable is short and flimsy, and the mouse wheel very faulty. The mouse wheel began to get stuck after only several months of use, for some reason mostly when scrolled up. Because of its "Unique clear" rubbery surface, even the smallest increase in internal friction will cause your finger to slip right off, constantly unintentionally clicking it instead of scrolling. As for the thin cable, it at first seemed like an advantage. That is until it inevitably got partially torn (expect it to happen right where the cable meets the mouse or the USB plug),causing the mouse to shut off at unexpected times. I eventually soldered in a spare USB cable which I happened to have lying around. I'm guessing most people would just throw it away at this point. If it weren't for the bad cable and scroller, this little mouse would actually be pretty comfortable to use and it does work without a hitch on many different surfaces the way an optical mouse should. I think all the complaints I've read up here about it being too small are unjustified. After quickly getting used to it, I actually prefer using a smaller, lightweight, more versatile mouse. As soon as this one completely breaks down I will probably just get a more expensive similarly-proportioned mouse, except wireless and with a properly designed scolling wheel.

I recently purchased this mouse because my previous mouse broke. Overall, I am pleased with this mouse. However, there are a few things that I noticed about it that I would have liked to have known before I purchased it. First, it is a shorter mouse than I am used to and does not fit my hand as well as a skinnier mouse of the same width would have. Also, moving this mouse does not move the pointer on the screen as far as my previous mice and so I had to increase the sensitivity of movement on my computer to the highest setting. As far as the quality of the product goes, it seems to be a sturdy, compact mouse that will last and work well for a long time.
