This mouse is rather nice. There's the obvious flaws of the charging mechanism--IE it's built such that you can accidentally plug it in backwards--but that's easy to overcome and the mouse itself fits the hand very, very comfortably and controls nice and smooth. Of course there are obvious benefits to such an affordable mouse with rechargable batteries, but there's one big issue that all users ought to take into careful consideration--the scroll wheel. To be frank it's a piece of crap. It's a "smooth-scroll" instead of a "click-scroll," meaning that the wheel doesn't click along notches when you use it. That didn't bother me when I first got it, but then I tried iTunes and discovered that it wouldn't scroll at all unless the wheel made one full rotation--which is just annoying. What's more, I'm a digital artist and I use Autodesk Maya a lot--so the middle-click is vital to my work. The mouse is EXTREMELY picky about when it'll pick up the middle-click; if you rotate the scroll wheel AT ALL it won't work. You have to push it straight down without moving it. This wouldn't be so much a bother if you could change a setting somewhere, but there's no scroll sensitivity--just scroll speed. It's heartbreaking, because this is one of the best mice I ever laid my hands on. You can circumvent the issue by assigning the middle-click to a different button, but jesus, what a hassle, and the two side-buttons aren't natural for that at all. I'll keep trying to search for a way around this--because the mouse is otherwise really ergonomic and comfortable, especially with a memory foam wrist pad, and I'd like to be able to use it without having it slow me down.

Don't waste your money buying this hunk of Chinese junk. The cursor seems to have a mind of its own. It lags. It skips. It bounces around the screen. In fact, it does just about everything but follow the movement of your hand. And don't even think about gaming with it, or you will find yourself throwing it across the room as many times as I have. But if you do buy it, don't bother going to Microsoft's Troubleshooting page for this model; the list of things they suggest you do to get this mouse to work properly is endless. I know because I spent hours doing them...and it still didn't help. Either return it...or junk it.

The mouse fits my hand perfectly and I like that the wheel is smooth rather than the clicking. The buttons by the thumb are hard to reach, so I don't use them very often. The charger does not work. I put it on the dock and it goes green for the first few seconds and then starts blinking red. Which makes me mad because the reason I bought this mouse is so I wouldn't have to buy batteries. I tried rotating the charger on the wall and trying to make the dock as level as possible, but it still doesn't work. If you don't want to buy batteries for a wireless mouse, don't get this one.
