I've been through 3 packs of these and had only 1 or 2 disks that ended up as coasters. Both of which are my fault. These disks are Great and work perfectly every time. Most of the people who are having problems are probably having a buffer error because they're computer is slow and can't keep up with all the data that's being burned to the disk. Just because the disk can Handle 8x doesn't mean your pc can. Please try burning these at 2x-4x before you go blaming the disk.

I have used about 40 of the 50 DVD DL discs in the bundle so far and have encountered "error due to faulty media" on like 8 or 10 of them when I have been burning DVD's. That is a failure rate of about 20%, which is horrible by anyones standards. Now, for the discs that did work, they have started to skip after using them a few times. I know its NOT an issue with my DVD player because when I put an original DVD in it does not skip. So, i am not sure if the issue is with the DVD's themselves or my DVD-RW drive, but it's happening. Once I purchase some DVD-DL discs from another manufacturer I will be able to evaluate where the error lies.

Like so many others, I tried and failed too. I've used single-layer Memorex DVDs in the past with no trouble at all, so at first I could not believe they would be defective. Yet when I received mine, I tried 2 DVDs and I could not manage to burn anything on them. After checking the comments I saw many other people have issues too with these DVDs so I just returned the whole thing and got a refund. The reviews are 50% 5-star vs 50% 1-star... that tells you something: avoid this product, just pay a bit more for dual layers that actually work reliably, especially if your goal is to perform actual backups.
