Note: I received a request from Amazon to rate this product, so I did a cut and paste of an earlier review I submitted on the same product. The fact that I keep buying them should be an indication of satisfaction. I think this is somewhere around my tenth purchase of this same mouse. I'm using them on several computers, I buy them for family members and occasionally one gets worn out or destroyed. My personal experience with these indicates that the average life of these seems to be around a year and a half at 7 to 12 hours nearly constant use 6 days a week. That's 4400+ hours. Here's my earlier review: No complaints here. It's exactly what you would expect - light, durable, comfortable, works well. I have three of these. One of them gets dropped or has it's cord yanked several times a day. Another has been in heavy use for about 18 months. They are all working fine without even showing much wear. Mouse balls are always getting dirty and start working poorly. An optical mouse eliminates that problem. If you need special features, like extra buttons, cordless, etc., this won't do. If you need a functional, simple, reliable mouse, This is as close to perfect as you'll find.

After the MS optical mouse on my Son's computer failed, I ordered this one. The mouse is working great on my Son's Windows XP system. This is another solid and well designed Logitech product.

Excellent mouse for the price. I got it to replace a wireless, after I got tired of paying for and replacing way too many batteries, and of the wireless unstable operation due to a fall. These little things are not fancy, just good quality, sturdy and cheap.
