I've owned 2 of these. One died in 6 months, the other started shorting out at about 6 months, but Kinda still works. I tend to squeeze mice kind of hard & I believe that slowly causes some component on the side of the mouse to die. Other then the reliability issue, (a big other!), I am fond of this mouse, great fit for my hand & very accurate tracking. I've experienced similar reliability issues with every Logitech mouse I've owned in 11 years of computing.

I bought this mouse to replace the mighty mouse that comes with apple computers which has to be the least ergonomic mouse ever created. It worked immediately when it was plugged in. After loading the software, it worked even better with all of the buttons which can be programmed to do any number of apple shortcuts. I found this to be a trouble free process, with none of the problems people talk about with the software. I just download the new version from the internet instead of using the CD, just to make sure it is the most recent. Pros: -Extremely comfortable, the materials, the buttons, the shape, everything feels great. -Very good response and none of the ghost movements I've seen with optical mice, you know when the cursor just starts moving for no reason. -Seamlessly works with mac and windows machines, I have moved it to and from work and with all kinds of computer and it never misses a beat. -great value, all Logitech products I have bought are still working after years of use, mice, keyboards, headphones, and this one seems no different. Cons (because I feel like I have to): -Wired, which I actually like, stops the hassle with batteries. -The center mouse button is hard to click without knocking it from side to side, I have only found this to be a problem with drafting on AutoCAD, otherwise I have never come across an instance where this is a problem. -Keeping the laser hole clean. I have found this small hole on the bottom picks up tiny hairs and sometimes makes the mouse lose its ability to track. it's easy to clean with tweezers, and this almost makes me take this down to a 4, but it needs to be cleaned about 3 times a year, which I should probably clean it far more than that as regular maintenance, so I will just leave it here. I'm thinking about getting the wireless version of this mouse or just another one of these, but I'm going to stick with Logitech and this shape for as long as they make it.
