The title says it all: If you completely charge the 890 to read 'full green' on the battery indicator, then most of the blue screen problems encountered by most first-timers will disappear. Also a must: You must load info into both the remote AND the IR unit for the multi-function, multi-room features to work properly. And finally: If you seem to be missing some of your devices in your macro settings, don't panic. Simply scroll under the "Device" screens and it'll be there- provided you *did* type the right manuf. and ser. #'s in the set-up portion. My neighbor and I found out all of the above through trial and error (each of us was the other's guinea pig!) Now both of us are in remote control nirvana..!

I have owned both the 880 and the 890 remotes, and after 12-18 months, both exhibit the same problems... first the volume buttons go, then the buttons to the left and right of the LCD, making the remote unusable. Getting support on these has been next to impossible, since they are out of warranty. Very poor design for such expensive remotes!

awesome- everyone in the house can now switch from tv to dvd and use the same remote for volume!
