Just a warning if you plan on upgrading this with DD-WRT - Amazon seems to be shipping the WRT310N v2.0s now, which don't work with DD-WRT (at least as of August 2009). If you do plan on using DD-WRT, you'll have to find another place that has the WRT310N v1s (you can find which serial numbers are for which versions online). Other than that, great router. Nice and fast.

This router was easy to set up, and most things about it are fine. But I'm used to routers, like my old Linksys WRT54G, that I can put under my desk and that simply keep working day in and day out for years. That does not describe this router. About once every week, week and a half, it locks up and needs to be power cycled. I've tried it in different orientations, but so far to no avail. I'm fed up with this router. I'd prefer to return it, but I just discovered that I'm just a few days out of the return window, so I'm stuck with it. I may just retire it, buy a new (non-Linksys) router, and keep this one around as a spare.

This router is a total mess. Everything fails, from Internet Connection to the Gigabit router passing through wireless hangups. It seems it is very sensible to temperatures, so even modded with fan and heatspreaders, outside of the cabinet, it fails constantly. It started to get worst and worst and reboots and failed boots are common. As soon as my room temperature reaches 22C its gone, needs to be powered off for 10 mins before rebooting Run away from this, it simply doesn't work
