Took me a while to assemble it, but it's sturdy, and works very well. I've got a LaCie hard drive and a LaCie CD/DVD writer solidly screwed into the top two slots (there are four slots) and two smaller drives of other brands stacked below them (but not screwed in). Saves a lot of space. I guess it's only meant to accommodate LaCie brand items. I wish these things were standardized but that'll never happen.

I like this rack a lot with respect to containing four drives, but there is barely any space between each drive. Inevitably this means lots of heat if multiple drives are running. I just had a disk failure on one of mine and I can't help but wonder if it had something to do with lack of ventilation. Maybe, maybe not. LaCie should improve on this by adding some space between each of the drives.

I have five LaCie drives and I am so happy to have this rack. I have four drives in the rack and one more sitting on top. Great accessory for keeping multiple LaCie drives organized.
