Pros & Cons :of all the notebook lock/cable options on amazon, i picked this one because it was retractable and thus less of a pain to haul around.

Pros & Cons :sure, it could be thicker, but it works well enough that i think it'll stop all but the really dedicated thief.
Good, convenient deterrent, won't stop determined thief
