I bought this radio for work. I can only play the radio at low volume so this radio is perfect. I absolutely love the card reader even though it will only take cards up to 2Gb about 240 songs. If you're going to buy this radio don't expect booming sound; it is a radio for small spaces, and for this task it does it exceedingly well. I bought a pair of decent headphones and when plugged into this radio the sound is big and clear. I recommend this radio for anyone who wants to listen to music and not bother other people. It doesn't boom. It doesn't fill a concert hall with music. What it does is play music (or news or whatever) using a myriad of different media which is really convenient. A neat little radio for a good price.

After reading the other reviews all I need to put down is: First week it played my mp3 cd-r just fine. 2nd week noticed it took longer to load up directory. 3rd week it won't play any cd-r/rw disks ( mp3 or cd-da ) and it has problems with store bought cd's. Someone said you get what you pay for, actually a $20 mp3 player hooked up to speakers would be alot better than this...and it would show you the name of the track your playing. This is junk, dont buy it. On top of that they don't say what the limits are on the media your trying to play ( memory size, max # of tracks, etc ),

This item is not expensive and has a lot of options for playing music. However the speakers and sound is unimpressive, and the super base feature is unremarkable. The technology works, and it's a good deal. It's well suited for a childs first stereo. You are getting what you are paying for.
