This thing is INCREDIBLE. We have been using it for the past two months to switch between two always-on desktops, and I could NOT be happier. I thought I was going to have to drop $100+ on a professional KVM.. so WOW, was I surprised to see this on Amazon for around $25. I was so skeptical that something so cheap (and without its own power supply) could work well, so I read the reviews, which were kind of a mixed bag. I am here to tell you though that this thing is PHENOMENAL. It always works; tap Scroll Lock twice and it'll ALWAYS switch between two PCs, unless one of them is turned off or something, in which case you can still switch to the powered-on machine. I have seen NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES WHATSOEVER with this device. I'm using it with a PS/2 keyboard, a USB optical Microsoft IntelliMouse with a USB->PS/2 adapter (works FINE), and a Gateway LCD widescreen HD-capable monitor. Using this device, I can switch quickly & smoothly between both desktops EVEN WHEN THEY'RE BOTH RUNNING FULL-SCREEN DIRECTX GAMES. Oh, and those special, weird multimedia buttons on my new Gateway PS/2 keyboard, the ones for Volume +/-, Mute, Calculator, Search, Power, etc? Yeah, they work PERFECTLY ON BOTH MACHINES. So not only does it switch, and support the entire regular keyboard/numpad flawlessly, it supports the extra weird keys it has no business being able to handle. I never expected that level of performance, especially not for $25, but WOW, I got it. FIVE STARS.

I decided to use my 32 inch VIZIO LCD TV as my computer monitor for 2 computers I needed an inexpensive KVM switch and researched them all and liked the reviews for this one. This switch does exactly what I want it to do. I just tap the scroll/lock key twice and it switches flawlessly. Once the mouse for one of the computers stopped working so I just unplugged the mouse from the switch and from the PC, shut the computer off, plugged the switch back in at both ends and it's been working great ever since. Ive had it one month and no serious problems so far! I recommend this product.

I have been using KVM switches for several years. First my goal was to have access to both Linux and Windows for research and general purposes respectively. Those who have tried dual-boot Linux and Windows in early 2000s know how unstable that combination is -- shelf life of 6 months at most. Frustrations on that front led me to get my first KVM switch. Since I used to work from home (still do) and have personal interests, KVM switch came in handy again. A month ago my previous switch died. I don't recall what brand it was, but it worked for 2 years. After reading the reviews, I bought this piece. It worked on one computer but not on the other: a single tap begat scores of letters on my desk and I could not use the backspace key. I use the Microsoft Natural Elite keyboard for the past 4 years and do not understand why this piece of junk won't work with that. I bought the KVM switch (USB only) from TrendNET and that seems to be working fine. Skip this one and try TrendNET instead.
